Rožič joins Laudato Si Research Institute in Oxford as Inaugural Director of the Integral Ecology Research Network

Peter Rožič, SJ, PhD has stepped down as director of the Environmental Justice Program to serve as the Inaugural Director of the Integral Ecology Research Network at the The Laudato Si’ Research Institute (LSRI) at Campion Hall in Oxford University, Oxford, UK.

In this role, Dr. Rožič will facilitate academic initiatives and global partnerships in integral ecology research, particularly with institutions in the Global South. He will connect IERN’s work with a growing network of scholars, activists, and organizations focused on environmental issues from faith-based perspectives.

In the announcement of Dr. Rožič’s appointment, Christie Joseph SJ, Secretary for Jesuit Higher Education in Rome, points out that Rožič’s leadership reflects “the Jesuit ethos of education, environmental stewardship, and justice. His expertise will significantly enrich our global academic community, driving impactful research and fostering collaborative solutions.”

Dr. Rožič, who served as director of EJP from May – November 2023, will continue to collaborate with EJP on projects of interest. EJP will continue its work under the guidance of Peter Marra, dean of the Earth Commons Institute, while  a search takes place for the new director of the EJP.
