About the program
The Georgetown Environmental Justice Program (GEJP) was established in 2020 thanks to the generous gift of an anonymous donor. It was born out of an intuition: a just and sustainable ecological transition must have social justice at its core.
The director of the GEJP is Fr. Gaël Giraud, Ph.D., a research director at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and former chief economist of the French Development Bank (AFD). The GEJP seeks to deliver theoretical tools capable of understanding contemporary ecological transitions and contributing to topics of environmental justice in the world.
