Archive: Women in the Economy of Francesco

In response to Pope Francis’ invitation to revive new economies, a global alliance was promoted in the Agriculture and Justice Village – one of the 12 groups created as part of the initiative “The Economy of Francesco” – to allow women’s access to the land, so that it fully fulfills its vocation to biodiversity and favors the good life of all communities in the world.

Among the many projects developed, as a synthesis of the aspirations for change that emerge from Brazil and Latin America, one, in particular, deserves our attention: the Woman Mother Earth Alliance seeks to offer concrete answers to the demand for “Land, Roof and Work”  for women in rural areas of Brazil and the world; to defend their right of access to genetic resources; and to build fair relationships around the production, trade and consumption of healthy food.

More information on the project is available here in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
